Anb Bricks

Anb Bricks is over on 3, J Old Military Lane in Samanathana Puram. It is an older part of town and the lane is a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you are driving a big truck in here to pick up a load. We have been working out of this location for a long time. The yard is full of bricks stacked up high, and there is usually a lot of red dirt on the ground. It is a family-style operation where everyone knows their job and just gets on with it. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small space with a table and a couple of old stools where we drink tea and talk to people who stop by. The work is mostly outdoors, so we are always at the mercy of the weather. When it rains, everything slows down and we wait for it to clear, but when the sun is out, we are moving as fast as possible. The military lane has its own history and we feel like a part of the neighborhood now. People from around Samanathana Puram come to us when they are building a shed or fixing a wall. It is manual labor, nothing more and nothing less. We don't use a lot of complicated technology, just our hands and a few simple machines to keep things going. It gets quiet in the evenings after the loaders go home and we close the gate for the night.
