Working out here in Pirojpura, near Chhapi, is a bit different than being in the big city. We are based at D-1 in the Edr Industrial Estate. It is a long way out in the Banaskantha district of North Gujarat, but we like it here. It is quiet except for the sound of the machines. We deal with castings, mostly making sure things don't leak, which is why the name is what it is. It is hot work, especially in the summer when the Gujarat sun is hitting the roof of the shed. We spend a lot of time looking at metal and checking for cracks. Our team is mostly local guys from the Taluka Vadgam area. We have been doing this for years, just pouring metal and hoping for good results. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out right and we have to start over. That is just part of the foundry life. We don't have a fancy showroom. It is just the factory floor and a small office where we keep the books. If you are driving down toward Ahmedabad or up north, you might pass near us. It is dusty and loud, but we are proud of the stuff we make. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make solid parts that stay together. It takes a lot of patience to get the molds right every single day.
