Sbm Oxford Matric Hr Sec School is located in Thalanchipatti, near Ondachatram in the Oddanchatram area of Dindigul. It is a place that feels very much like the heart of the countryside. Many of our students come from families who live in the surrounding villages. The school is a simple place with a lot of open air around it. We don’t have those massive skyscrapers nearby, just trees and fields. The building is functional. We have classrooms that are large enough for the kids to sit comfortably, even when it’s a bit warm outside. The teachers here are very practical people. They don't use a lot of fancy jargon. They just explain the lessons in a way that the children can understand. You see the kids playing in the dirt during their breaks, and that’s just fine. It’s part of growing up here. We have the usual school events, but they are local and down-to-earth affairs. The parents come in their work clothes sometimes to pick up their children, and everyone knows everyone else. It’s a small-town vibe where the school is a big part of the daily life. We don’t pretend to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place for learning and getting through the grades. We keep the focus on the subjects and the exams. It’s hard work for the kids and the staff, but it’s what we do here in Dindigul. We just keep things moving along.
