We’ve been over here on Cadet Avenue in Ambatpalayam for a good while now. It’s a busy spot in Chittur and most people around here know where we are. Dealing with the paperwork and getting things sorted every morning is just how it goes for Sri Ram Agencies. My brother and I usually open up early before the heat really gets started. Some days the lorries come in all at once and it gets a bit crowded on the street, but we manage. We aren't a big fancy operation with a glass front or anything like that. It’s mostly just us handling the day-to-day stuff and making sure the inventory is where it should be. Sometimes the internet is slow or a delivery gets delayed, which is a headache, but that's part of it. We keep our records in these old ledgers mostly, even if the kids say we should use the computer more. The fan in the back office makes a bit of a racket but keeps the air moving. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, more shops popping up nearby, yet we just keep doing what we do. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. If you’re passing through Chittur, you’ll see our sign. Nothing much has changed inside for years, but the shelves are full and we know where everything is kept.
