Shreyad Distributors

Our place is over in West Yakkara, specifically near the Shiva Temple in Murikkave. Shreyad Distributors is located at Door No. 19/49/2, which is easy to find if you know the Palakkad area. The temple bells ring in the morning and evening, and it’s a nice sound to work to. We handle a lot of boxes here. They get stacked up to the ceiling sometimes. We have to use a ladder that wobbles a bit to get to the top ones. The floor is made of grey tiles that stay cool even when it’s hot outside. We have a small desk near the entrance where we check the delivery notes. The pen usually runs out of ink right when a driver is waiting. It’s a bit disorganized, with stacks of paper everywhere and some empty tea glasses waiting to be washed. We try to keep things moving, but sometimes the shipments are late coming from the main warehouse. We just sit on the porch and talk to the people walking by the temple. It’s a friendly neighborhood. Most of the people around here know us by name. We don’t have any fancy signs, just the address painted on the wall. At the end of the day, we lock the gate and head home. It’s not much, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. Sometimes we give water to the stray dogs that hang around outside.
