Sakthi Driving School

Sakthi Driving School is located on the ground floor of Ganga Tower. That’s right on Shornur Road at the 19th Mile marker in Palappuram. Being in Palakkad, we get quite a bit of sun, so the office is a nice place to sit for a minute before the next lesson starts. We have a few cars parked outside in the lot. They get a bit dusty from the main road traffic, but we try to wash them when there’s time. The 679103 area is quite busy, so the students get to learn in real traffic right away. It can be a bit nerve-wracking for them at first. We don’t do anything fancy here. We just sit in the passenger seat and keep an eye on the pedals. The office has a few chairs for people waiting their turn and a shelf with some old binders. There’s a tea shop nearby where we usually go between the morning and afternoon sessions. It’s a straightforward business. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just see the sign on Shornur Road and walk in. We spend most of our day looking at the road and making sure the indicators are being used. It’s tiring work sometimes, especially with the heat, but it keeps us busy. We just keep the cars running and the schedules filled. It is a very simple way to make a living in this town.
