Nanma Super Market

Nanma Super Market is sitting at 16, Gramam Road in Veliancode. Even though the name says super market, it’s a very local kind of place where everyone knows each other. I’ve been working here on Gramam Road for a while now, and I can tell you which floorboards creak when you walk on them. We have a lot of items packed into a relatively small space. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so I have to use a wooden ladder to reach the stuff on top. Veliancode is a good neighborhood, and the people are generally friendly. Most of our customers live within walking distance, so we see the same faces every single day. I usually spend the afternoon restocking the shelves after the morning rush is over. The front window is large and lets in a lot of dust from the street, so I’m always cleaning. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or bright neon signs. We just have some ceiling fans that hum loudly and a few lights that keep the place bright enough to see. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit in the dark and wait for it to come back on. It’s just part of life here. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just open up in the morning, sell what we have, and lock the doors when the street gets quiet.
