We have been here in Kuzhalmannam for quite a while now. The shop sits right on the side of NH544. It is easy to find if you are driving past, though sometimes the trucks make a lot of noise. We mostly handle steel items that people need for building houses or small sheds. The yard gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up from the highway. We spend most of our mornings checking what came in the night before. Sometimes the delivery is late, and we just have to wait. It is a family thing, really. My brother helps with the accounts and I look after the loading. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. Just a desk, some chairs, and plenty of stock piled up in the back. Most of our customers are folks from around here who are doing some repairs. They come in, ask for the price, and we talk for a bit. We try to keep things simple. If we have it, we tell you. If we don't, we see when it can come. The sun hits the front of the building in the afternoon, so we usually sit further back where it’s cooler. It's just a regular day-to-day business. We keep the ledger on the table and mark things down as they go. Nothing too complicated about it. We just open up in the morning and see what the day brings.
