Genus Biotech

Genus Biotech is located in Mattumanda, over in the C. N. Puram area. It’s a relatively quiet neighborhood, which is nice for the kind of focused work we do. We deal with biotechnology, which sounds complicated, but for us, it’s just a daily routine of testing and looking at samples. We have a small lab setup where we spend a good chunk of our time. It’s a lot of patience and waiting for results to come back. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from cleaning the glass tubes to filing the reports. We started this because we were interested in how science could be applied to real-world problems, and we’ve just kept going. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it’s got what we need for the work. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they need a specific kind of test done. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed, though we have to be very precise with the actual lab work. Sometimes the equipment acts up and we have to spend the morning fixing it. That’s just part of being a small shop. We’re just local people who happen to know a lot about biotech and we’re happy to be doing it here in Mattumanda.
