Shree Hari Traders

Our place is located in the Kurkumb MIDC industrial area at Plot 344/9. It is a bit out of the way if you aren't already working in one of the big factories out here in the Daund taluka. We deal in various supplies that the nearby industrial plants need to keep running. Most of the day involves a lot of lifting and moving heavy crates around the warehouse. It can get very hot inside the building in the afternoons. Daund is a dry place, so we end up drinking a lot of water. I spend a good amount of time checking the delivery papers and talking to the truck drivers. Those guys always have some interesting stories about the roads they’ve traveled. We aren't a big, fancy company with a lobby. The office is just a corner of the warehouse with a metal desk and a couple of plastic chairs. We’ve been out here since this industrial zone first started to grow. I’ve seen it change from empty land to all these buildings and noise. We handle all kinds of goods—some days it is spare parts and other days it might be industrial cleaning supplies. We don’t have any marketing people. We just answer the telephone and fill the orders as they come in. If we tell a customer we have something, we make sure we get it to them. The paperwork is a bit of a chore, but it’s just part of the job.
