Running a business out here in Barshi means dealing with a lot of dust and heat. We are situated right on the Puna Latur Highway Bypass, near the Bhagwant Temple. You can see the trucks rolling past all day long, heading toward Solapur or further out. The location is convenient because everyone passes by this way, but it gets quite noisy. Our office is on the Gadegaon Road side. It’s a basic building. We have some chairs for visitors and a lot of paperwork on the desks. Since we are near the temple, we often hear the bells ringing in the mornings. It’s a nice sound that cuts through the highway noise. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the road get busier every year. The sun in Solapur district can be really harsh, so we keep the shutters halfway down in the afternoon to stay cool. We deal with various things here, mostly coordinating shipments or talking to people coming off the highway. It’s a lot of phone calls and writing things down in notebooks. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside in the shade for a bit until it comes back. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life. We know the local chai seller well and he brings us tea twice a day. We just try to do our work properly and stay out of the sun while the trucks roar past our door.
