Smart Cables & Cords Pvt. Ltd. is located at Plot No. 94 in the Phase-2 part of Badli Industrial Estate. It’s a busy area with a lot of trucks moving around. We spend our time making all sorts of wires and power cords. The shop floor is always full of big spools of copper and plastic coating. It’s a bit noisy when the extrusion lines are running, but that’s the sound of work being done. We have a group of workers who have been doing this for a long time. They know how to spot a problem with a cable just by looking at it. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls. We just try to make sure the cords are safe and they work like they should. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of plastic and have to wait for a delivery, which can be annoying. The office is small and usually has a few stacks of papers that need filing. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make decent cables that people can use without any trouble. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what we know. We show up early and stay until the orders are packed. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s steady. We have some fans running to keep the heat down, but it still gets pretty warm when all the machines are going. We just take our breaks and keep at it until the shift is over.
