Silco Cables

Our place is at C-8 in the SMA Industrial Estate, right off G.T. Karnal Road. If you know the area, you know how much traffic there is with all the trucks moving in and out all day. It is a loud part of town but it suits what we do here at Silco Cables. The unit itself is packed with spools and raw materials that we use to get the cables made. It isn't a corporate office with air conditioning in every corner; it’s a working factory floor where things get dirty. We spend a lot of time checking the gauges and making sure the insulation is thick enough on everything that goes out the door. The team is small, just a handful of guys who live nearby or commute in from the surrounding parts of Delhi. We eat our lunch together in the small break area when we get a chance, usually talking about the news or the heat. Working on G.T. Karnal Road means we see a lot of people passing through, and sometimes folks stop by just to ask for directions or see if we have a specific wire they need for a home project. We just keep our heads down and try to stay on top of the production schedule. It’s a repetitive job, pulling wire through the machines and winding it up, but it is what we are good at and it pays the bills.
