Sanjay Gandhi Hospital

The hospital here in Block S of Mangolpuri is a landmark for most people living nearby. It is a massive brick building that stays busy from Monday to Sunday. There is no such thing as a holiday here. We have many wards and the corridors are always filled with people. Some are waiting for their turn and others are just resting. The fans overhead make a constant clicking sound as they spin. We have a lot of paperwork to handle every day and the files are stacked high on the desks. It is a bit disorganized sometimes because so much is happening at once. You can hear the ambulances arriving and the sirens are just part of the background noise now. The canteen serves food that smells like lentils and spices throughout the afternoon. We see people from all over the area coming here because it is a central spot in Mangolpuri. The floors are made of hard stone and our feet get tired by the end of the day. It is not a fancy place but it is an important one for the community. We just do our part in the daily grind. There is always someone needing something or a question to be answered at the desk. We keep going because the work never ends and the people keep coming through the doors. It is just a regular public hospital life for all of us.
