Manchanda Traders

You can find us over at No. 313/18- C. We are tucked away near the State Bank of India in the Inderlok Shoe Market. If you’ve ever been to Inderlok, you know how crowded it gets with people looking for footwear. We have been part of this market for a long time. Manchanda Traders is basically a family thing. My father started it and now we all just pitch in. The shop isn't very large, but we pack it to the ceiling with boxes. It smells like leather and rubber in here most of the time. When the market is in full swing, you can barely hear yourself think because of all the shouting and carts moving around. We have our tea delivered from the stall around the corner every afternoon. That is usually our only break. Being near the bank is helpful because people use it as a landmark. We see all kinds of people coming through here, from big wholesalers to folks just looking for one pair. We don't have any fancy displays or lights. We just use the same old wooden racks we’ve had since the beginning. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is acting up in the market, but we just keep going. It is hard work being in Inderlok, but it is what we know. We don't really bother with fancy talk; we just show people the stock.
