Lecturer

Being a lecturer here in Indira Colony, specifically at T-2, is quite a trip. Narela is a busy part of Delhi, 110040. My place is not very big, just a room where I keep all my books and notes. I’ve been teaching for a long time now and it’s just what I do every single day. The streets outside are usually full of people and kids playing, so it’s never really quiet here. I have a small desk where I sit and prepare my lessons. Sometimes the electricity goes out and I have to use a handheld fan to stay cool while I read. It’s not a fancy college office or anything like that. It’s just a simple home setup where I can focus on the subjects. People from the colony come by sometimes just to ask questions or borrow a book. I don’t have any big assistants or secretaries helping me out. I do it all myself, from writing the notes to organizing the schedule. The address is easy to find if you know the landmark of Indira Colony. I spend a lot of time thinking about how to explain things better to the students who stop by. It’s a lot of work but I’m used to it now. The walls are covered in papers and old calendars that I forgot to take down long ago.
