L. K. Art & Crafts

Shalimar Bagh is where we set up L. K. Art & Crafts. We are tucked away in Bk-1/136A, and if you weren’t looking for us, you might walk right past the door. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have so many different materials and finished pieces sitting around. There is always a smell of glue or paint or wood shavings in the air. We spend our days making things, sometimes by hand and sometimes with small tools that have seen better days. It’s not the kind of place where everything is tidy. There are scraps of fabric and bits of metal on the workbenches most of the time. People from the neighborhood come in looking for something specific, or they have an idea for a gift they want made. We sit down and try to figure out how to put it together for them. It’s a slow process sometimes. My hands are usually stained with something by lunch. We don’t have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them we do decent work. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when we are running a machine or hammering something into place. We just like making things and staying busy in our little corner of the city. It keeps us out of trouble and the bills get paid.
