National Institute Of Oceanography

Our place is out in Dona Paula, right by the water in Goa. It's a quiet spot compared to the busy tourist areas further up the coast. We are mainly focused on the ocean and everything that happens inside it. The building is at Du 46 and it's where the researchers and fellows like Kaise K M F spend their time. There’s a lot of sand and salt air around here which is nice but it can be really tough on the equipment and the cars. We have labs and offices where people study fish, water quality, and the sea floor. It's a lot of looking through microscopes or staring at computer screens for hours. Sometimes we go out on boats to collect samples from the deep. That’s usually the part people like the most, even if you get a bit seasick when the waves are high. The institute has been here for years. It feels like a small community of people who just really like the sea. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. Most people who come here are students or people interested in science. It’s not a place for a quick visit. It’s more for long hours of reading and testing things in the lab. The sun sets right over the water and it's pretty quiet in the evenings when the wind dies down. We just keep doing our research and hope it helps someone. It's slow work but we enjoy the view we get every day while we work.
