Glenmark Generics

Our office for Glenmark Generics is actually situated at the Prakash General Store in the Karaswada area of Mapusa, Goa. It’s a bit of an unusual setup because we are right there with the local shop. You have to go to Pedem to find us. The atmosphere is very local and grounded. You can hear the sounds of the general store below, people buying their daily groceries and chatting away. We handle the generic side of the medicines from this small outpost. The space is a bit tight, with desks pushed up against the walls and boxes of samples stacked in the corners. It’s often humid, being in Goa, so the windows are usually kept open to catch any breeze from the trees outside. We don’t have any corporate branding inside, just the bare essentials needed to do our jobs. Most of the staff live nearby in Mapusa, so we all know the local shortcuts to avoid the traffic during the tourist season. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with a big lobby or fancy carpets. We just sit here, do our data entry, manage the local accounts, and talk to the store owner about the news. It’s a very simple life and a very simple way of working. Sometimes the power goes out during the monsoon, and we just take a break until it comes back. It is just how things are done here in our little corner of Pedem.
