Yash Masala Udyog

Yash Masala Udyog is located at Plot No.159 in Sonia Vihar. We are right near the Union Bank of India branch, which is how most people find us if they are lost. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of shops packed together. We’ve been here for a while, grinding spices and packing them in the back room. The smell of turmeric and coriander stays in your clothes even after you go home. We have a small storefront, but most of the work happens in the back. It’s a bit cramped because we have so many bags of raw chilies and seeds. We use old-style grinders because they get the texture right. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing them. We aren't big on marketing. We just put a small sign out front. Most of our customers are women from the local houses who want fresh stuff for their cooking. We chat with them while we weigh the packets. It’s a noisy street with bikes and rickshaws going past all day. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot. It is just a regular job for us. We don't have a big corporate story. We just make masala and try to make sure it stays the same every time so people keep coming back. We have a couple of boys who help with the deliveries on their cycles. It's a simple life.
