We operate out of the Hari Chand Mela Ram Complex, which sits right on the Main Wazirabad Road in East Gokulpur. It’s a very busy part of Delhi, and the traffic outside is constant from early morning until late at night. Our space is tucked inside the complex, so you have to walk past a few other shops to find us. Since we deal with flavours, there’s usually a strong smell of something fruity or spicy depending on what we’re packing that day. It’s a small operation where we spend most of our time measuring things out and getting bottles ready for shipping. The walls are lined with shelves full of different samples and ingredients. It can get a bit cramped when several of us are working at the same time, but we’ve learned how to stay out of each other's way. We do a lot of the packing by hand, which takes time but ensures we don't make mistakes. The light coming in from the front is sometimes blocked by the boxes we have stacked up near the door. We don't have any big signs or advertisements; we just rely on the work we do. Most days are spent checking orders and talking to transporters about when they can pick up the next load. It’s a steady pace, and while the noise of Wazirabad Road is always there, we’ve gotten used to it after all these years.
