Our place is on G.T. Road in Shahdara, Delhi, specifically at the 110 053 pincode area. It is a loud and lively part of the city. You can hear the horns and the street vendors all day long. Our office sits right in the middle of all that action. Inside, it is just us and our desks. We have a lot of maps and site plans lying around on the tables. It is a bit of a maze sometimes with all the stacks of paper. We aren't a big, polished corporation with a glass building. We are more of a hands-on group. The floor is tiled and easy to clean, which is good because we are always coming and going. We have a few ceiling fans that hum all day to keep the air moving. Most of us have been here for years, so we have our own little routines. We usually eat lunch together at the big table in the middle. It is a practical work environment. No one wears fancy suits here; we just wear what is comfortable for a long day of work. The filing cabinets are old and a bit squeaky, but they hold everything we need. It’s a real place where real work happens. We don’t have much in the way of decorations, just a calendar and maybe a clock that is five minutes fast. That’s how we run things.
