About Indian Spice Stock – Food & Beverages in North East Delhi
Our place is tucked away on 20 Feet Road, over in Meet Nagar near the Sambholi Phatak in Mandoli. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty crowded around the railway crossing, especially when the gates are closed. We spend most of our time surrounded by big bags of different spices. The air always smells like cumin or turmeric, which stays on your clothes even after you go home. It's a small operation, mostly just shifting stock and making sure everything is packed up for the shops that buy from us. We aren't a big supermarket or anything like that. It’s more of a warehouse feel where we keep the Indian Spice Stock moving. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow road, so there's always a bit of shouting and engine noise outside. We just keep our heads down and get through the inventory. It's dusty work, and your hands end up stained yellow or red by the end of the shift. Most of our neighbors are doing similar things, just local people trying to earn a living. We don't have a fancy showroom. You just walk in, see what we have in the sacks, and that’s it. It’s a bit messy sometimes with loose seeds on the floor, but that’s the nature of handling bulk spices. We’ve been here long enough that most of the regulars know exactly where to turn off the main path to find us. We just focus on getting the sacks weighed and out the door on time.
