Grahshri Masala

You have to look for Street No-5 in Jagdamba Colony to find us. We are tucked away at 70-A in Johripur, right near the Mangal Bazar Gali. It is one of those busy neighborhoods where you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. The smell of ground spices usually hits you before you even see the door. We have been grinding masala here for a long time. It is a family thing, really. My uncle handles the heavy bags and I manage the small grinding machine that makes a lot of noise. It is not some big sterile laboratory. It is a small room with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We get dusty and the air is always spicy, which can be tough on the eyes if you aren't careful. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. People just come to the door and ask for what they need. Sometimes we run out of something and have to tell them to come back tomorrow after we get more raw ingredients from the market. We use simple clear bags and tie them up tight. It is a lot of repetitive work, weighing and sealing, day after day. But we like the routine of it. We just stay here in our little corner of the colony and keep the machines running until it is time to close up for the night.
