Gopal Vatika

You can find Gopal Vatika over on Moti Ram Road in the Shahdara area. It is basically a large open space used for various local events. The road outside is almost always dusty and there is a lot of noise from the vehicles passing by throughout the day. We have a gate that stays shut most of the time unless there is a booking. The grass needs a lot of cutting and watering to stay green, especially with the Delhi heat hitting it so hard in the summer. We have some basic structures for shadows but it’s mostly just the open ground. People come here to look at the space for their family parties or small gatherings. We don't provide much in the way of catering or lights ourselves, so people usually hire their own outside workers to come in and set up tents. It’s a lot of work to clean up the trash after a party is over. Sometimes there are leftovers or plastic wrappers scattered everywhere and it takes us the whole next morning to get it back to normal. The neighborhood is mostly residential and small shops, so we try not to let the music go too late at night. It isn't a fancy place with marble floors or anything like that. It is just a practical spot for people who live around Shahdara and need some room for a crowd.
