Yamuna Organic & Departmental Store

Our store is over at 95-B, right across from Tirkona Park in Model Town. It’s a nice spot because of the park; you see people out for walks or kids playing while we are working inside. We call ourselves Yamuna Organic and Departmental because we try to keep a mix of things. We have the usual stuff you’d find in any shop, but we also got into organic items because people started asking for them more often. The store stays busy in the evenings especially. We spend a lot of time dusting the jars and making sure the pulses and grains are stocked up. It’s not a big corporate chain or anything, just a local shop where we know your name if you come in twice. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road for a minute, and we have to rush to get things inside. The shelves are packed pretty tight, so you have to look closely to find some things. We don't have fancy lights or those big supermarket carts. It’s more of a place where you grab what you need and maybe stay for a bit of a talk. We deal with different suppliers every week to keep the organic section going. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything sorted, but we like being in Model Town. It’s a good community and we’ve become a part of the daily rhythm here near the park.
