Tru Spices

Tru Spices is located at No. 1131 in Sitaram Bazar. If you know Chandni Chowk, you know how crowded it can get, and we are right in the thick of it near Kucha Harjas Mall. It’s a historic area, and our building has been around for a long time. The lanes are narrow, so you really have to know where you’re going to find us. Inside, it’s all about the spices. We have bags of turmeric, cumin, and everything else piled up. The smell is very strong, and it stays with you even after you leave. We don’t use any fancy packaging or have a shiny storefront. It’s a working warehouse and shop combined into one. We spend most of our time weighing out portions and talking to customers who have been coming to this bazar for decades. It’s a loud place with people shouting, bells ringing, and the general chaos of Old Delhi. We wouldn’t have it any other way, though. There is an energy here that you don’t get in the newer parts of the city. We open early before the heat gets too bad and stay until the sun goes down. Most of our tools are old-fashioned because they still work just fine. We don't see a reason to change things that aren't broken. It’s just us doing what we’ve always done in the heart of the city, keeping the old ways going.
