The Design Cart

The Design Cart is right in the middle of the chaos at Kinari Bazaar in Chandni Chowk. If you have ever been to this part of town, you know it is crowded and loud every single day. We have our little spot here among all the other shops. We spend most of our time sorting through bits and pieces and talking to people who wander in. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things up to the ceiling sometimes. You get used to the noise of the carts and the shouting outside after a while. We aren't some big corporation with a lobby. It's just us and our supplies. Some days are better than others, especially when the weather is nice. We drink a lot of chai and try to stay organized, though the shelves always seem to get messy again by lunch. People come to us because they know we are here in the bazaar. We don't really do much advertising because the street handles that for us. It is a busy life but we like being where the action is. The shop has a certain smell of old paper and dust that we don't even notice anymore. It is just home for us during the day. Sometimes we have to close early if the power goes out, but that doesn't happen too often. We just keep moving and keep the shop open as long as we can.
