About Siya Ram Nannumal Kulfiwale – Food & Beverages in North Delhi
Our spot is at 629 Kundewalan Chowk in Gali Lodan, right near Ajmeri Gate. If you know these lanes, you know they are narrow and always crowded with people and rickshaws. We've been making kulfi here for a long time. It’s a family thing, passed down without much changing in how we do it. The pots are always cold, and the smell of cardamom is usually hanging in the air around the shop. It’s not a big place at all. You just stand on the street and eat your kulfi while people push past you. That’s just how Old Delhi works. We don’t have fancy menus or air conditioning. Some days the heat is quite something, but the kulfi helps. We start prepping the milk early so it thickens up just right. It takes a lot of stirring. Sometimes we run out of certain flavors before the day is over, but that’s just how it goes. People come from all over, but we still have the local kids who drop by with a few coins. It’s a humble business. We just keep the freezers running and the kulfi frozen. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it in this same spot forever. Siya Ram Nannumal Kulfiwale is part of the street noise and the daily bustle here, and we like it that way. We just keep things moving and hope for a good crowd every evening.
