Superchef Cheese

You can find us at B-200 in Ashok Vihar Phase I. It is a residential area mostly, so it is a bit quieter than the main markets. We deal with cheese and dairy products. Inside, it is always a bit chilly because of the big refrigerators we have running. You can hear the hum of the compressors all day long. It becomes like background noise after a while. We spend a lot of time checking temperatures and moving crates around. The space is filled with stacks of containers. We don't really have a fancy lobby or anything like that. When you walk in, you are pretty much right where the work happens. We wear jackets even when it is hot outside because of the cold storage. It is a simple setup with a couple of desks for the billing and a small area for loading the delivery vans. We usually start our shifts pretty early so the cheese can get where it needs to go before the sun gets too high. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding the exact turn in Phase I, so we spend some time on the phone giving directions. It’s just us and the cheese for most of the day. We keep things clean because you have to with food, but it's a working warehouse, not a showroom. We just focus on keeping the stock fresh and getting it moved out on time to whoever ordered it.
