Shravan Meat Shop

Our shop is over in Jahangirpuri, at C-1627-28. It is a local meat shop where we serve the people living in this part of the city. We open up early to get the meat ready for the morning rush. Most of our day is spent at the chopping block, preparing different cuts for customers. It is a straightforward business. We have some heavy wooden tables and sharp knives, and that is about it. The neighborhood is pretty busy, with lots of people coming and going. We see the same faces almost every day, people stopping by on their way home to get something for dinner. It’s a bit of a small space, so when it gets crowded, people have to wait outside on the sidewalk. We try to work fast so nobody is standing around too long. In the summer, the heat can be a bit much, but we have a couple of fans going to keep the air moving. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just selling fresh meat like any other butcher shop in the area. Sometimes the delivery arrives a bit late because of the traffic in Jahangirpuri, which can be frustrating. We just clean up the shop at the end of every shift and get ready to do it again the next day. It’s hard work on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We have been at this specific spot for quite some time now and know everyone.
