Being located in Azad Market means there is never a quiet moment. Our spot at 1993-94/43 along Shivaji Road is right in the thick of things. You see all kinds of people coming through here every single day looking for fabric or just passing through the market. It can get a bit overwhelming with the noise of the trucks and the rickshaws outside, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We handle a lot of the Raymonds stock here. Most of our day is spent unrolling fabric, checking the quality, and making sure everything is organized on the shelves. It is a lot of heavy lifting sometimes when the new shipments arrive. The shop isn't exactly modern or anything, it has that old Delhi feel with the high ceilings and the stacks of cloth reaching all the way up. We have some regulars who have been coming to this specific part of Azad Market for decades. It feels more like a community than just a place of business. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it is a bit slower and just watch the street life go by. Shivaji Road is always full of surprises. We just keep our heads down and do what we need to do. Managing a place like this takes a lot of patience, especially when the market gets really packed during the festival seasons. We just try to keep the inventory straight and make sure the shop stays open as promised.
