You can find us over at shop number 44/1 in Number Das Colony, right in Burari. It’s a busy spot with cars always pulling up and people asking about this part or that. The shop is filled with boxes of spares and there’s usually a bit of oil on the floor from someone checking an engine nearby. It gets quite loud with the traffic on the main road, but we’re used to it. We spend our days looking through catalogs or climbing up the racks to find a specific bolt or a light fixture. It’s a lot of talk about makes and models. People from around Burari know the shop because we’ve been sitting here for ages. It’s not a shiny dealership. It’s a working shop where things get dusty. We have a small desk in the back where the ledgers are kept. Sometimes the tea stall guy brings over a few cups and we take a break on the stools outside. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, making it quite warm. We keep the shutters up from morning until late evening. Dealing with mechanics and owners is what fills the hours. Every day is different depending on who walks in with a broken part in their hand. We just try to keep everything organized, though it looks messy to anyone else.
