If you find yourself in the AL Block Market of Shalimar Bagh, you might walk right past us at Am 127. We are right there in the mix of the local market life. It’s a North West Delhi spot that feels very settled and a bit old-fashioned. Our office is a bit of a maze because we have so many samples and documents from over the years. We’ve been operating from this location for a while now, and the neighbors all know us. It gets really busy in the market during the evenings, so we usually try to get our big deliveries sorted early in the morning before the crowds show up. The work involves a lot of coordinating with people overseas, so our clocks are always set to different times in our heads. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably see someone eating lunch at their desk or a stack of boxes waiting to be taped up. The air conditioner makes a bit of a rattling noise, but we’re used to it. We just focus on getting the overseas orders right. There’s a lot of back and forth with the shipping agents and the customs people, which can be a real headache, but that’s the nature of the job. We’ve got a small balcony that looks over the market, but it’s mostly used for storing empty crates these days. You just get used to the clutter after a while.
