Our business, Magnum Rice Mills &Agro Foods Privatelimited, is located in Kali Gali within the Chandni Chowk area. If you’ve ever been to Chandni Chowk, you know how incredibly narrow and packed the streets are. Kali Gali is no exception. We operate out of a small space where we handle the rice and food product side of things. It’s always noisy with people shouting and rickshaws squeezing past. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time now. The building is old and has a lot of character, though the stairs are quite steep. We deal with different types of rice and other grains. There are bags stacked up almost to the ceiling in the back room. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy logo on the wall. It’s just a place where work gets done. Most of our customers are people who have known us for years. We spend our mornings talking to traders and our afternoons checking the stock. The air is always filled with the smell of spices and grains from the neighboring shops. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't use much technology besides a basic computer for the billing. It’s a bit chaotic at times, especially during the festival seasons, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It’s the heart of the old city and we are just a small part of it.
