Lakshmi Dairy

Started here in Faridabad N I T Industrial Area years ago. It’s a busy spot at 27-B/66. Every morning the milk trucks show up early, way before most people are even awake. We handle a lot of crates. Sometimes the floor is wet from washing down the cans. It’s mostly just us working through the daily list. People come by for curd or paneer when they need it for dinner. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since we opened, more factories now. We keep the fridge running all night. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things around. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons. Most of the guys from the nearby industrial units stop in for a small packet of something on their way home. We aren't doing anything fancy here. Just a dairy shop. The shelves are mostly filled with the usual stuff you’d expect. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the main road, but that's just how it goes in Faridabad. We try to keep things organized but when it's busy, it gets a bit chaotic behind the counter. My brother usually handles the morning shift and I take over later. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s just a regular life here, day in and day out.
