Our place is located at 564-565 in Katra Ishwar Bhawan, right in the middle of Khari Baoli. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets with all the spice trade and people moving around. We deal with food products here. The building is old and has a lot of history to it, which we like. There’s always a lot of noise outside from the carts and the loaders. Inside, we have our stock piled up. It’s a lot of manual work, moving bags and checking inventory. We don't have a flashy showroom or anything like that. It’s more of a warehouse feel where things get done. We’ve been operating out of Khari Baoli because it’s the heart of the food trade in Delhi. Sometimes the dust from the spices makes everyone sneeze, but you get used to it after a week or two. My uncle worked in this trade before us, so it felt natural to keep it going. We handle a lot of bulk stuff that goes out to different shops across the city. The stairs in Katra Ishwar Bhawan are narrow, so we have to be careful when we’re carrying things up and down. It’s a busy life and the days start very early before the sun is even fully up. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the stock is moving. It’s simple, regular work in a very old part of town.
