Chawri Bazar is always crowded and noisy. We are located at 669/11 in Churiwalan. It has been a family spot for many years. My father started things here, and now we just keep the shop running day to day. People come in looking for specific metals, mostly brass and copper. Sometimes we have what they need in the back, and other times we have to go find it elsewhere. The lanes are very narrow, so getting delivery trucks in is always a big headache. We usually take a tea break around 11 am while we check what’s in stock. It is not a fancy office at all. There is just metal everywhere, mostly sheets and scraps stacked up against the walls. The name Global Metals And Sons sounds like a big operation, but really it is just a few of us in this small corner. Our customers mostly know us by face. We do not do much advertising because the market is tight and word travels fast. Some days it gets very hot inside the shop. We have a couple of old fans that just move the warm air around. We try to be honest about the weights and what we are charging. If a piece of metal has a mark or some rust, we will tell you. There is no point hiding it. Our workers have been with us for a long time. Ramesh knows the inventory better than I do.
