Garhwal Paneer Bhandar

Garhwal Paneer Bhandar is a small dairy shop in Fatehpuri, right in Gandhi Gali at number 19. If you know the old parts of the city, you know how narrow and crowded Gandhi Gali can get. We are right in the thick of it. Every morning, the fresh supply comes in, and we get to work setting up the blocks of paneer and containers of milk. The shop is quite small, mostly taken up by the large cooling tubs and the weighing scale. We have been serving the people around Fatehpuri for a long time. It is a very traditional way of doing things. We don't have fancy packaging or a website. People come with their own bags or containers, and we cut whatever they need right there on the spot. The floor is usually wet from the ice and the cleaning we do throughout the day. It is a fast-paced environment because everyone is in a hurry in Gandhi Gali. By the afternoon, the shop smells strongly of fresh dairy, and we are usually rushing to keep up with the demand. We are just a local bhandar doing what we know how to do. There is no corporate structure here, just a couple of us making sure the product is ready for the local kitchens. It is a piece of the old city that stays the same.
