Bharat Marble House

Bharat Marble House sits at 40 Lahori Gate on GB Road. If you’ve ever been down this way, you know how hectic it gets. There’s always noise from the street and the sound of heavy slabs being moved around. Our place is full of stone. We have marble pieces leaning against the walls and stacked in the back. It’s heavy work, and our hands are usually rough from it. We spend a lot of time measuring things and showing people different patterns in the stone. It’s not like a regular store where everything is clean and shiny. There is stone dust everywhere, on our clothes and on the floor. GB Road is a crowded spot, so we’re always watching out for the delivery trucks coming in and out. Sometimes it takes a while to find the exact piece a customer saw last week because things get moved around so much. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in or call us up. We just try to keep track of what we have in stock. The weather makes a difference too; when it’s hot, the stone stays cool, which is nice. It’s been our daily life for quite a while now. We just handle the marble and make sure it gets where it needs to go. It’s just us working hard in the middle of Lahori Gate. We keep it moving.
