You can find us at shop number 27 in the Old Lajpat Rai Market. Baadshahi Paneer is a name most of the regulars here recognize by now. We deal mostly in dairy, specifically paneer, which is what we’re known for. The market is always a bit of a mess, especially in the early hours when the fresh stock comes in. It gets quite wet and cold in our section because of the refrigeration and the water we use to keep things fresh. We don't have fancy furniture or a waiting area. People come, they see what we have, they buy it, and they leave. That’s how it works. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the walls show it. We don't use much technology, just a simple scale and a ledger for our accounts. It’s an honest living. We make sure the paneer is fresh every single morning because that's what keeps the customers coming back. Sometimes we have tea with the other shopkeepers when it’s slow. It’s a tight-knit community in this market. We don't have a marketing team or a social media page. Word of mouth is enough for us. If someone likes what they bought, they tell their neighbor, and that’s how we get by. It is a simple business in a crowded place, and we are happy with that. We just focus on the daily routine and keeping the shop going every day.
