Our shop is right in the middle of the Moti Lal Nehru Market area. Being at Shop No.1 means we are the first thing people see when they walk into this section. Gujrati Basti is always loud and there’s always something happening right outside the door. Mewa Mandi has its own energy and a very specific smell that you eventually stop noticing after working here for a while. Astralone International Private Limited is the name on the paperwork, but most people just know us as the first shop in the row. We spend most of our time moving boxes and talking to the regulars who come in. The space isn’t very big, so we have to be really smart about how we stack all the goods. If you walk past, you’ll probably see us arguing over a delivery note or trying to find a pen that actually works. It’s a bit old-fashioned here. We don’t use much fancy technology, just the basic stuff to keep our records. The market life suits us fine. We know the guy who brings the tea and all the other shopkeepers nearby. We’ve been here long enough that the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels right. Every morning we open the shutters and sweep the front. Then it’s just a cycle of customers and phone calls until it’s time to head home. We don’t do much advertising; people just find us or remember us from years ago.
