Ajanta Meat Shop

Ajanta Meat Shop is located in the Central Zone of New Ranjit Nagar. It’s a pretty standard setup. We’ve got the counters and the cutting blocks, and we spend most of our morning getting the meat ready for the day. It’s hard work, starting while most people are still asleep, but we’ve gotten used to the routine over the years. The shop isn't anything special to look at. We keep the floors scrubbed and the knives sharp. That’s the most important part of this job. New Ranjit Nagar is a lively neighborhood, so there’s always someone coming in for a bit of mutton or chicken. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know how to handle the orders. Sometimes the line gets a bit long on Sunday mornings, but people are usually patient. They know we’re working as fast as we can. We don’t use fancy packaging or anything like that. We just wrap it up and send you on your way. It's an honest living. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the local families have their meat for the week. The Central Zone can be a bit confusing if you’re not from around here, but we’re right where we’ve always been. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the shop stays pretty much the same day after day. We just keep our heads down and focus on the cutting board until the job is done.
