Our office and workshop are at 5041-42 on G B Road. We are tucked into Labi Gali, which is one of those narrow lanes where you really have to watch your step. It’s a crowded area near Hauz Khas, and there’s always something happening. We deal with heavy machinery and cooling parts, so the space is usually full of metal pieces and industrial components. It can get quite hot in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. There is a lot of grease and oil around, so it’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear nice clothes. We spend a lot of time talking to mechanics and site managers. The noise from the main road drifts in, but we are used to it by now. We’ve got shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, packed with spare parts and tools. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what we are looking for in the back. We have a small desk where we do the billing and the paperwork. It’s a very hands-on job, and we are usually moving stuff around or fixing things. We’ve been in this spot on GB Road for years. It’s a bit of a maze, but we know every corner of it. We just focus on getting the machines out the door so the customers can get back to their work.
