Khari Baoli is a legendary place, and we are right in the thick of it at 634-A. If you walk through these lanes, you know it is all about the heavy lifting and the smells of wholesale goods. We deal with mava and dairy products, so our day starts much earlier than most of the city. Usually, we are here while it is still dark to receive the fresh supplies. The shop is full of large containers and heavy bags. It is a very physical job. We are constantly moving things around, weighing products on the big scales, and making sure everything is kept at the right temperature. The floor is often a bit damp from the ice and the milk crates, and the walls have that old-market feel to them. It is not a place for people who are afraid of getting their hands a bit dirty. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. People find us because their fathers and grandfathers used to buy from us. The street outside is so narrow that trucks can barely pass, and it is always a struggle to get things loaded and unloaded. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long hours. It is hard work, and the air is thick with the smell of sweets and spices from the neighbors, but it is what we have been doing for generations in this alley.
