Ridhi General Store

You can find our store on the Bairagachhi-Gerki Road in Gerki. It is a quiet part of the world and we like it that way. We decided to open Ridhi General Store because the neighbors had to travel too far just to get basic things like cooking oil or soap. The road outside is mostly dirt, so it gets very muddy whenever it rains. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floor. It is a small family business. My wife takes care of the shop in the morning while I go to the bigger town to get new stock. We don't have any fancy shelves, just some wooden ones I put up myself. They are a bit crooked, but they hold the weight of the flour sacks and the rice bags. We sell stationery too, which is good for the school kids who live nearby. Sometimes we run out of the popular brands, but people around here are patient. They just take what we have. We know almost everyone who walks through the door. It is more like a meeting place than just a shop. The lighting isn't great, but it doesn't need to be. We know exactly where the matches and the candles are kept. It is a honest, small-town shop. We just want to keep the basics available so nobody in Gerki has to go without their daily needs.
