New Bhojon

New Bhojon is situated in Vidyadhar Pally, on the Baid Baria Main Road in Canning. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main city, but it’s our home. We’ve been serving food here for a while now. The place is simple, with just enough tables and chairs for the locals who come by. We don't have air conditioning or fancy menus. We just write what we have on a board or tell people when they walk in. The kitchen is right there, so you can hear the pans clanking and smell whatever is cooking. It’s a very local vibe. We get our supplies from the market nearby, mostly whatever is in season. Canning is a busy place, especially near the station, but we are a little further out on the main road. We don't have a website or a social media page. Word of mouth is how most people find us. Sometimes the floors are a bit worn down, and the paint is peeling in the corners, but the food is honest. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place to sit down and eat a meal without any drama. We know our regulars and what they like to order. It’s a quiet life, mostly, except during the lunch rush when everyone is hungry. The rain can be heavy out here in the monsoon, and sometimes the roof leaks just a little bit, but we just put a bucket under it and keep going. We've lived in this area all our lives and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
