Global Career Management

Our office is located in Village Dankal, near Kampa, out in the North 24 Parganas district. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main city, but it’s where we are based. We help people find jobs or figure out what they want to do with their careers. It’s a lot of talking to young folks who are looking for their first break. The office is modest, just a few rooms in a building that’s surrounded by a lot of greenery and open space. It’s much quieter here than in Kolkata. We spend our time looking through resumes and making phone calls to different companies to see who is hiring. Sometimes we have to explain things several times to help people understand the process. It’s not a fast-paced environment, but we stay busy. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy outside. Most people find us through word of mouth in the local villages. We drink a lot of tea while we work, and the power goes out sometimes in the afternoon, so we just sit and wait or talk until it comes back. It’s a very local operation. We just try to be helpful to the people who walk through our door looking for a better future. It’s steady work and we like being part of this community. We keep a ledger for everything because we like doing things the old way without too many gadgets.
