Our place is at 36/2, Shantigarh in Shyamnagar. It’s a pretty standard spot in North 24 Parganas. If you know the area, you know how it gets during the rainy season. The office is usually busy with people coming in and out, checking on orders or just sorting through the day's paperwork. It isn't a massive corporate skyscraper, just a regular building where we get things done. Most of us have been around for quite some time, so we know the regulars who stop by. The fans stay on pretty much all day because of the heat. We don't have fancy leather chairs or anything like that. Just wooden desks, some old filing cabinets that squeak a bit, and a few computers that have seen better days. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that's usually the highlight of the afternoon. People in Shantigarh mostly know where we are if they need to drop off a letter or pick something up. It can get a bit loud outside with the traffic and the local market nearby, but you get used to it after a week or two. We just try to keep up with the schedule and make sure the logs are updated. It’s honest work and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We are just here from morning until the shutters go down in the evening. There's always some dust on the shelves, no matter how much we clean, but that's just life here.
