Amit Dresses

Amit Dresses is located in Basirhat, specifically in the Karmakarpara area. We are very easy to find because we are right near the Post Office and the Police Station. It is a busy part of the 24 Parganas district, and there are always people walking past the shop. We have been here for a long time, making and selling dresses for the local community. The shop itself is quite small and filled with different fabrics and half-finished clothes. We do not use any computers or modern systems for our work; we still do everything with measuring tapes and paper notebooks. It feels more personal that way. The streets in Basirhat can get very crowded on market days, and sometimes the noise from outside is quite a lot, but we just keep working. We have a few helpers who sit with us and sew. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just take a break and sit on the bench outside until it comes back on. We know most of the families around here, and they come to us when they need something for a special occasion. We try to keep our prices fair because we know everyone in the neighborhood. It is not a big corporate business, just a local dress shop where we do our best to finish every piece of clothing by hand.
